I am delighted to be part of the Farewell Flower‘s team taking funeral flowers to RHS Chelsea for the first time. Along my incredible colleagues; Gill Hodgson MBE – Fieldhouse Flowers and Carole Patilla – Tuckshop Flowers and Georgie Newbury – Common Farm Flowers We will be creating Gill’s Design in Chelsea’s Grand Pavilion. It will feature exclusively British grown blooms and will be entirely free of plastic floral foam and single use plastic. It will prove you don’t have to sacrifice beauty for sustainability. It will show how fresh, seasonal materials are natural, beautiful and can be resonant with meaning. Treading lightly on the planet. Our churchyard scene will feature a range of compostable designs, from flower-filled boots to shareable casket sprays and naturally woven wreaths. Our flowers are inspired by life stories to fit the personalities of the people they’re reflecting. We’ll show you that there are so many ways to make personalised funeral flowers that don’t need to cost the earth. We want our display to inspire and spark conversations about what sustainable funeral flowers can be. We think the RHS Chelsea Flower show is the perfect stage on which to demonstrate that funeral flowers don’t need to stay hidden in the shadows, but should be celebrated and enjoyed for their beauty beyond their primary purpose. We want show you that funeral flowers can be anything you want them to be.
